Indiana Hardwood Lumber Association

The IHLA is a non-profit trade organization comprised of sawmills, wholesale brokers, equipment vendors, secondary users and others who recognize the benefits of working together on projects of interest to the hardwood industry.



Indiana Forest Industry Council

The IFIC mission is to encourage and promote the exchange of ideas and information among individuals, partnerships, corporations and others doing business in the state of Indiana who are engaged in timber buying or the primary or secondary wood-using industries.



Indiana Forestry and Woodland Owners Association

IFWOA is an non-profit association, founded in 1977, providing education, leadership and programs to foster out-standing forest stewardship objectives, to encourage the protection and proliferation of wildlife, and to preserve and protect natural resources. IFWOA is an advocate of all Indiana woodland owners at the state legislature lobbying for programs and regulations that will encourage and allow wood-land ownership for the purpose of recreation, timber production, timber harvests, and wild life habitat. Log A Load for Kids

Log A Load for Kids is America's renewable resource creating miracles for our most precious resource. It is a fund raising opportunity for loggers and other forestry industry personnel in conjunction with forestry organizations and associations to raise money for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.



Game of Logging

Created by Soren Eriksson and Tim Ard, two of the world's premier logging experts, The Game of Logging, Inc. offers hands-on training to forest industry professionals in a competitive environment. Top instructors across the country combine demonstration with participation to teach safety, productivity, conservation, and cutting techniques. Students learn the fundamentals of saw handling and control, systematic chain saw maintenance and how to maximize equipment performance. The more advanced sessions cover areas such as site evaluation and new techniques for precise felling, limbing and bucking.

Society of American Foresters

SAF is to advance the science, education, technology and practice of forestry; to enhance the competency of its members; to establish standards of professional excellence; and to use the knowledge, skills and conservation ethic of the profession to ensure the continued health and use of forest ecosystems and the present and future availability of forest resources to benefit society. SAF members subscribe to a code of ethics, the foundation for their professional behavior in relations with the land, the public, their employees (including clients), and with each other. Stewardship of the land is the cornerstone of the forestry profession. As such, SAF members advocate and practice land management consistent with ecologically sound principals.

For all your Indiana outdoor experience the DNR offers licenses, permits and maps. In addition to fishing and hunting licenses, the DNR customer service staff can answer general questions and assist with State Park passes and timber and water permits.
